In Biarritz

There is pretty much something for everyone in Biarritz and around. Characterful apartments with high ceilings and french windows can be found in beautiful, early 19th century mansion buildings downtown but equally you can get a modern property in a quality new-build. Both types can be found in the centre, with or without sea views. Beach villas are in different areas depending on your preferred beach! Again, whether you are looking for a period house or ultra modern, you have a choice of both. Only 10 minutes drive from Biarritz and you are in stunning, green countryside where you can find some sumptuous villas and Basque farms with views to die for. Prices for both apartments and villas vary between 5000€ and 9000€ per square metre, depending of course on location, views and accessibility. In San Sebastian

San Sebastian is all about city living on the sea. People come here for the vibrant atmosphere, the festivals, the food and the beautiful location. So when you buy here, you really want to be in the heart of it, abandon the car and live like a local! The city is conveniently divided into 4 specific districts – the young, up-and-coming, trendy Gros area behind Zurriola surf beach, Ondaretta which sits on the western tip of Concha beach, the bustling old town and romantic area and the more residential Amara/Anoeta district set back from the centre. Each area offers something different. Most of the properties are in very robust,ornate, stone mansion houses overlooking the Concha bay or the river though you can also find individual villas on mount Igueldo if money is no object as here the views across the bay are to die for! Many of the prestigious houses are now divided into apartments with communal gardens. However you can also find more modern buildings with bigger outside space. Prices are slightly more than in France but are compensated for by lower estate agent fees, taxes and renovation costs.
