Associated fees for buying property in France

You need to budget for around 15% in diverse fees for purchasing a property in France. Estate agents command high fees of approximately 5-8% and on top of this you will need to account for the notary fees (usually around 7%), which include stamp duty and all registration taxes.

If you take out a mortgage to finance the purchase of your French property for sale, you will need to allow for a registration fee of 1% of the mortgage value. Beyond Biarritz works with several banks and can assist with setting up the mortgage application and opening a current account.
