Your role
As you would with buying in the Uk or elsewhere, you need to research the area to know whether it is the right place for you. Whether you are looking for a holiday home or a permanent residence, the homework that needs to be done prior to contacting us is practically identical and it is important for us that you have already sourced your area and that we then know why you have chosen a particular town or spot. To do that, you really need to come and visit the area over a period of perhaps a long weekend or a week if possible and get a real feel for the area. This isn't the time to visit properties but popping into the odd estate agent to see one or two properties can always be interesting and often eye-opening! However we would normally not arrange a series of visits at this stage because you are still at the stage of deciding where you want to settle. There will always be properties around for your next visit and it is better making use of your time to check out certain villages, towns etc and how prices vary from region to region for example.
By all means we are happy to advise you on the different areas to visit and are also happy to meet up with you during your visit to the area. In fact we prefer to meet you because although we are able to get a fair idea via emailing, nothing can replace physical contact and because we offer such a personalised service, both parties benefit from meeting up.
