Julia was born in Hereford and, due to her father’s job as an organist and director of music, she moved all over the UK before landing in France a good 16 years ago. She obtained a degree in Applied Languages at Brighton before heading off to work in a ski resort in the French Alps and she’s been in France ever since! Throughout her professional career Julia has worked in public relations, mainly in the tourist industry.  Building on that experience, latterly she began to specialise by applying her knowledge of the French property market, the French way of life and the way the French work, to help British people buy and settle in France, specifically in the ski resort of Valmeinier, where she lived for 13 years.  In 1994, she married Paul, a French craftsman, and now has two young children, Amy and Luc, who are bilingual. With the bug for moving to pastures new in Julia’s veins, she plucked up the courage to move her husband (a true mountain-loving Savoyard) and children to the Pays Basque on the other side of France where she was convinced they would have the best of both worlds : mountains and the sea. Thanks to the enthusiasm of British friends that she had helped to settle in the Alps, she was encouraged to set up on her own and to help others discover the attractions of her new home - the Pays Basque. She has certainly never looked back!   Julia is a registered independent “Agent Commercial”. She is therefore able to work with various estate agents and offer services alongside to provide a complete service to her clients. She is not registered as an estate agent because she prefers to offer an objective view on properties available and does not offer the same services as an estate agent. She runs Beyond Biarritz from home and manages to combine work with family commitments and an increasingly busy social life - clients have become firm friends and her family back home have also fallen in love with the area, so visits are almost constant, especially in the summer months! In her spare time, Julia climbs the Basque hills, be it on foot or on her racing bike and she loves skiing, running, cinema, cooking and just being outdoors. “There is such a good quality of life here, especially for bringing up a family, and that’s what’s important in the world we live in today.
