Beyond Biarritz is run by Julia Troccaz
Julia manages the Beyond Biarritz property sourcing and management team and has been living in the Biarritz region for eight years. She obtained a degree in Applied Languages from Brighton University before heading off to work in a ski resort in the French Alps over 20 years ago and she's been in France ever since!
Throughout her professional career Julia has worked in public relations, mainly in the tourist industry. In recent years she began to apply her knowledge of the French property market, the French way of life and the French approach to work, to helping English-speaking clients negotiate, purchase (/property-purchase/) and renovate holiday homes in south France, specifically in the ski resort of Valmeinier where she lived for 13 years.
In 1994, Julia married Paul, a French craftsman, and they now have two young children, Amy and Luc, who are both bilingual. With the bug for moving to pastures new in Julia's veins, she plucked up the courage to move her husband (a true mountain-loving Savoyard) and children to the Pays Basque on the other side of France where she was convinced they would have the best of both worlds - the mountains and the sea. They have certainly never regretted the move!
Julia soon discovered that the standard estate agent was unable to offer appropriate services and solutions to the foreign buyer, and in particular British buyers, because of their lack of knowledge and the language barriers. She decided that there was a niche in the market for offering more complete and personalised services to overseas buyers looking for property for sale in the Biarritz region. Julia also believed it was important for these buyers to be able to deal with someone who spoke their mother tongue and whom they could trust. She has since built up a comprehensive network of personally chosen partners and prides herself on the high quality range of services that Beyond Biarritz is now able to offer clients.
"I am very fortunate to love what I do. It is a fact I appreciate every day when I wake up! Living in this area really allows me to reap all the benefits which make me do good business. I need to be in a healthy, respected environment; I need to be able to keep fit, eat fresh local produce to keep the engine running smoothly so that I can do business successfully, with a positive attitude. In this region of France, it is possible! My goal is to pass on this attitude of positive, healthy living to my often stressed and over-worked clients. That will be my biggest achievement."
